So why is this rubber ducky dangerous?
Hackers, come in many forms and try ingenious methods of getting you to do their work for them
As well as being a Duck and a USB pen this cute little thing can also do some of the following when you plug it in to your computer: –
- Steal all the passwords stored on your device
- Create a link to an external computer providing the user on the other computer with full control of yours
- copy documents to an external source
- add a virus to your device
- delete everything on your device
- Log every key stroke you make, recording any bank details, confidential emails, personal information that you type and sending it to an external person
- Encrypt everything on your device and hold you to ransom for it
(The Picture above is an example, this device can come on any form of USB pen and devices like these have even been found on school playgrounds)
So if you find a USB pen anywhere NEVER connect it to your laptop / computer, let Technical Support know you have found it and hand it to them.
